Fast Track Purchases
Fast Track purchases are for certain categories as designated by Purchasing. Fast Track Requisitions act as both a Check Requisition and an Independent Contractor Check Requisition. Independent Contractors must be preapproved through the Compensation Department before engaging their services.
Fast Track purchases are done by approved Associate Buyers who have completed a training class on Y-Train and returned an Associate Buyer application. BYU Purchasing encourages all campus departments to learn the Fast Track Payment Process and for department representatives to become Associate Buyers. To participate in the Fast Track process, complete the steps below.
Fast Track Training
Fast Track Training is available online as a Y-Train program. The training is divided into two parts. At the conclusion, there is an evaluation quiz to see if you learned what the training courses taught. The training program can be taken at any time, at your convenience.
Upon completion, you will receive an email with links for a training completion certificate and the Associate Buyer Application. Complete the Application and then submit the certificate and the Application to Purchasing and Travel to have your Associate Buyer status activated.

- Sign up for Fast Track Training to become an Associate Buyer.
